: Custom clothes for villagers :

Hi there!

So when Pompom first first came to my village, her eye immediately caught my eyes and I had to make a shirt inspired by her eye. I know, it sounds weird.
I like to do this with my villagers, mostly because its funny and sometimes it matches well.

I was just wondering, am I the only one who does stuff like this?
And do you have any suggestions for custom villager clothing?

I do make shirt for my villagers to wear. In Moriyo they all wear either a shirt I send them, or one of many of my ombr? designed sweaters. In Luminosa, they will eventually wear Hawaiian type shirts.

That's pretty cute. I'd probably do something similar if I weren't devoid of artistic talent.
I just have old shirts I made in 2013 with a QR generator. Because of this, half of my villagers are walking around in a shirt depicting Tom Nook's face.
I don't have the heart to erase them, though :c

I should totally do that, to prevent them from picking up those ugly designs from the shop! Half of them are wearing that green bird shirt now, there's nothing you can do to stop them.. But when you put your own design in the shop, they tend to wear those. I think I'll get crafty this weekend and make a few cute designs that fit my town!

that's really cute!!!! i do make custom clothes but not for specific villagers...i have custom shirts in all eight displays at able sisters!

I have a blue & purple theme in one of my towns. All my characters have custom clothes. I put up different variations of those in the shops so most of my villagers wear them now

To stop them from putting those on, display an umbrella design and they will no longer be able to wear them.


I have made cutesy shirts for my villager in the past. In my town Macaroon, I had shirts with milk cartons and sweets on them. It was cute enough for the theme.

That green bird shirt is the bane of my existence!!!! I hate it so much, so I always make custom shirts because they will all inevitably change into that bird shirt if I don't.

However, I had an unintended consequence of making my own shirts this time around. All of the designs were unisex EXCEPT FOR ONE which has a hint of cleavage in it. Clearly a girl's shirt. Guess which is the only shirt my villagers are wearing and guess which are the only villagers wearing it...

So curious what they look like.

I tend to make QR jacket that is somewhat men's formal. 'Cause so crankies look more handsome, and when short/small villagers like mice or hamsters wear it, they look silly and cute. Especially when it's girl villagers.
Now in my town オアシス, all the villagers are wearing the same jacket that I made for temporary use on human character during the Christmas event of this forum last year.

Marshal, Limberg, and Clyde are showing their assets off and I hate it. At least with Clyde, it kind of just looks like it could be a light patch on his chest to go with his light colored nose, but with the other two, there's no question of what it is. -_-

I'm planning on doing this in my Splatoon town!
I'm going to put up in-game shirt designs for them to put on, but I'm also going to use custom shirts to hold Splatfests! (A competition where all the online players pick a side, like cats or dogs, and compete for it.)
Whichever shirt my villagers put on first will be what side they're on!
