CPU speed

so my dads birthday is coming up, and i want to get him a present. I asked him if he could upgrade any part of his computer (even monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers etc.), he said he would get a better CPU. His current CPU speed is 2.6 gig hertz. I heard that they have some CPU's with 4.5/etc.

Heres my question to you.

what do you think i should get him (write full item name/number please), and where should i get it from (ebay is an option). thanks

Firstly, do you even know how to install a CPU? It's much harder than simply plugging in a keyboard. If you don't know you'll have to take it to a PC store.

Secondly, you'd only get 4.5GHz processors through overclocking, and you'd need lots of cooling to pull that speed off. Just get a dual or quad-core 2.6/2.8GHz processor.
