So I've been contemplating doing the campsite method to fill in my missing Jock spot.
I heard that it involves TT'ing so my first question is, is it possible to do it without TT'ing or does the game autosave the moment I step into the camper's tent?
If I do opt to TT, how many days ahead and back should I be going?
I guess what I wouldn't want is moving months or years ahead of time as I'm so worried of messing things up.
I'm mainly looking for Mac though I'm also open to other Jocks like Scoot, Tad, Louie, Frobert, Drift or Bill - how many tries do you think it would take me to reset for them?

1)The game pretty much autosaves as soon as you load your file, so the camper is locked in right then and there.
2)I think going forward one day at a time is perfectly fine until you see a camper, and then I think a single jump forward of 7 days is recommended. Then continue with 1 day at a time.
3)It really depends on how many villagers there are who have that personality. I think smug and uchi are the easiest to get since there's way less of them compared to the other personality types.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about something.

That link has all the info you'll need about the campsite method. It works exactly the same without time traveling, but it could literally take years to get a specific villager. For example, I had to TT about 2.5 years to get Judy. The personality type(s) you're missing are the most likely to appear, and it took that long for me even though I was only missing snooty.

In short, the most effective method is as follows: Skip ahead 6 days. If no camper, skip 1 day at a time until you get a camper. If it's not the villager you want, save & quit, then skip 6 more days and repeat the process.

The above posts already explained everything but just to add since you said you didnt want to move too far ahead in time, you can actually just stay within the month you are on. What I do is when I reach the end of the month I just go back to the beginning. Keep in mind that going back will count just as one day so take that into account when counting how many days you have to Move ahead.

So today I had a camper but it was Biskit.
He's actually cute but I already have 3 lazies.
I thought the campsite gears the campers towards your missing personality type.

You will still get campers from other personality type but the game will favor the one that you're missing. I would say around 60% to 40% based from my personal experience. You just have to keep trying. Good luck.

Ahhh I see.
I thought that was the case as I was also given Truffles before despite having a peppy.
Didn't expect to be offered a 4th lazy though.

Don't worry! The other personalities that gets mixed in seems to be random. There was a point I've gotten 4 or 5 straight OP's (that's just how I called "other personalities") when I was looking for a normal villager. It really depends on RNG. The first time I did this was with Raymond a long time ago. He appeared as my 27th smug and I went through 43 campers, so that kinda took time.
