I am an avid cosplayer myself, and love it to death.
I can share some of my photos too if anyone is interested ^_^

My friends wanted me to cosplay with them this Saturday, because they're dragging me to comic-con. They're cosplaying as Hikaru and Kaoru from Ouran Highschool Host Club. I'm not really a fan of cosplaying myself, so I said I'd just go as me.

I don't think it's worth the stares you get at the train station, and I prefer to look at all the cosplayers (rather than do it myself).

I see where you're coming from o: Although, personally, as a cosplayer I really would say it's worth the stares ^_^ It's an unbelievable feeling you get at the convention when everyone wants to take a picture with you and compliment your skills I respect your opinion though, and it's really nice hearing a perspective from a non cosplayer!

i used to love cosplaying when i went to cons. i was just a wee teenager then, and i cosplayed riku from kingdom hearts whenever i went to otakon. i also did a quickly thrown-together amu from shugo chara once at a smaller convention.

if i were to go to a con again, id want to be a little more professional, and go as ichigo from tokyo mew mew. id want to get the best stuff. shame i cant really go to cons due to lack of friends and money.

When I was in my early teens I wanted to cosplay so badly haha. I never got the chance to go to a con, though - with or without a costume. It was just too expensive for my parents, so I never pushed it.

Nowadays I still think it'd be fun to cosplay.. But money is still an issue, and I don't have the confidence to wear a costume (some people can be unnecessarily rude with their criticism).

I cosplay too, I started when I was 13 (almost 14).
My first costume I've ever got is something simple, the school uniform of Ran Mori (Detective Conan) but that's too boring for me (still wearing it sometimes, especially the skirt for school), so I got the maid dress of Misaki Ayuzawa (Maid-sama) but unfortunately the corset is too loose, it doesn't really fit me and it's pretty complicated to wear. My third costume is the Kimono dress of Luka Megurine (Vocaloid, Project Diva Version) with a wig. It looks pretty but it's also tiring to wear.
My favorite costume is the 4th one, Ukyo Kuonji (Ranma 1/2). It suits me, is pleasant to wear and also takes some attention because of the weapon I made.
I also have a unfinished costume [my very first actually] what I tried to sew and make myself, but failed The only thing that looks quite good is the Automail (Edward Elric, Fullmetal Alchemist).
I ordered a new costume last month, it's Mei / Rosa from Pokemon B&W2, I also made a pokeball for it. The next convention I'll attend is in 2 weeks, I'm looking forward to it
Cosplaying is quite fun but also tiring. I actually don't take photos of it, I just do it because I like to run around like anime/manga/game characters

Shirohibiki -- I think you should try again !! I also went to my first con cosplaying (3 years ago) and I was very unprofessional! But nowadays I really improved a lot and even make my own costumes ^_^ I'm sure it'd be really refreshing for you.

Mephisto Pheles -- Ah. I know how you feel. Cosplayers don't have cashes of money in their wallets so really, it's a hobby that you have to contribute a lot to lol I really am dedicated so nowadays I just, kind of impulsively spend money on cosplay and conventions x)

bot -- there's always improvising! sometimes when accessories or parts of a costume are too hard to make for me, I just switch it out with a very simplified version; I feel like if I have the key attributes of the character on, it doesn't matter the details ^_^

Lita-chan -- oh my god your Madoka is beautiful! o: I'm glad to see a young cosplayer! I'm 14 myself and I don't see much people my age cosplaying around here. Here's my cosplay page: https://www.facebook.com/deliriusways (

Keitara -- Oh wow that's a really cool collection of characters I'd never pull out half of those lol It's great to see you progressing from buying costumes to making your own! I also did it that way and it's really fun finishing a costume by yourself because you just realize how much blood and tears you put into it lol

I cosplay but I don't think I am very good at it haha! ;w; I don't think I really embody the characters all that well, and I only end up taking "selfies" on my phone so they're bad quality. I-I'll give you this one for now, but it looks so mediocre in comparison to the other photos shown already. You guys look amazing And so cute!

Ignore all the mess in the background - This is seemingly the only photo of my cosplay in which you can see a little more of the costume. I edited the eyes on since I'm not sure I want to wear contacts. I hope people can guess and work out who I am...

I don't have any pictures of it but I was a team rocket grunt with the heart gold/soul silver uniform.

I'd like to try cosplaying again, but it's been tough trying to find a character I like enough to do!
