Controlling villager house locations?

I saw a thread explaining this a while back, but I didn't look at it.

Can someone link me to it and/or explain it here?

Basically, on the day a villager moves in, you don't start the game with your mayor character. Make a new person altogether, then find the plot of land where the villager is going to move. If you don't like it, reset and make a new character again. Repeat until the house lands in a spot you like, then actually save with the new character.

Ah. So I guess after you hit 8 villagers you just get on a new one each day to check for plots?

I forgot and went on my mayor twice. It got me Biskit and Rodney ;D

Nice xD Does checking with a new char and resetting also help to choose which villagers move in? There are a few I seriously want to avoid.

yes it does! but if you have told a villager from another town to move in, it will continue to be them. It will just reset where they want their home ^^
