Contemplating starting over

but I just don't know if I can just erase all that work. All the sets I've collected, all of the pwps, finishing Main Street, the museum, my catalog, my logs, my tools, the endless hours I've dedicated to finding my dreamies, breeding hybrids, and working on my town. But I'm bored, I don't like my towns map, it's name, and I really don't like my mayors face anymore. I'm still hesitant though because while I wanna start over, I'm not sure if I can put the same time and dedication into my new town. Decisions. Maybe I'll just turn it into a cycling town.

If your town seems to have some sentimental value left, keep it! If you can, buy a new copy. I've never really contemplated restarting my town because I'm pretty attached to mine. If it's important enough to you, you might regret it if you restart and can't go back later.

When someone says they want to start over, I usually think it's a good idea. However, it sounds like you have been playing awhile and have put a lot of work into your town. The game can be a bit boring when you've gotten this far. I suggest doing some of these things....

Try to get all the badges
Visit some fun dream towns.
Redecorate your entire town and your house.
Start a new character and decorate their house.
Get some new villagers.
Clean up your museum rooms and create a mini mall.
Refurbish some furniture and put clothing designs or patterns on them. See what you can come up with.

Not sure how far you are with your badges. My mayor just needs the host badge.
During the winter I started playing my side players as real players. The mayor still checks in for movers and than lets one of the side players out. The villagers are happy when they come out to play. Slowly working on getting the 2 side players badges.
They just need a scorpion for the golden net.

I also changed a lot of my PWP to Zen. The fairytale wasn't working anymore. After scorpion season I plan to add some more zen PWP and change the flowers.

Another copy might help. I started a new town in April and it's a lot of fun. If time is a problem you can always freeze your main town and than play it later. Some play a month on one town and than switch to next town.

I wouldn't erase your town. It'd be better to buy another copy of the game.
