Town: Suzumiya
I wander around my town, staring at the abandoned lands surrounded by masses of dirt. Animals plead for projects as I walk aimlessly through Suzumiya, watching the flowers wilt in dismay. As I sit in my office chair as the Mayor of a wasteland, Isabelle walks towards me.
"Would you like to start a project, Mayor?"
How can I tell her that our funds are short; if only I didn't spend thousands in advance on furniture that merely collected dust over the last few months. I simply shake my head, getting a nod in return, resulting in Isabelle walking away with her head facing the ground. Suddenly, something hits me. I look to my left to see a pamphlet "500k bell giveaway!" Of course! If I can get my hands on those bells, I can surely give the town a project worth waiting for. I sip my coffee and walk out of the building with hopes of achieving something for Suzumiya, something that will be, totally, awesome.

Real story:
One day Mayor Crystal discovered she had acquired Perfect Town status! She then decided she would like to remodel her town hall to have the fairy-tale theme. When it was finished, she felt that two fairy-tale streetlamps would look PERRRFECT in front of the town hall, so she built one on the left. When that project finished, she moved on to the right side of the town hall to build the second, but realized there was a rock in the way!! This meant that the two streetlamps would be lopsided! So she collected enough money to finish the right streetlamp, then went to demolish the first in order to make them symmetrical again. After she spent the money to finish the left streetlamp and the project was completed...ALAS, IT IS STILL LOPSIDED! So Mayor Crystal went back to Isabelle and asked to demolish it once more... or so she thought, because a tree was in the way of where she should have stood as she asked Isabelle if the location was okay...
So basically I just want two fairy-tale streetlamps in front of my town hall which is in the center of the two, but I've built 2 and had to demolish them, and just cancelled a third try. So hopefully I get it right this next time and I can FINALLY move on to other public works projects LOL
