confused as to why my villagers won't follow me into rooms sometimes

What's with that... Beau asked to come over so I ran me over to the crib and I wanted to show him my new kitchen full of treats but he won't go in my fav rooms

If they invite themselves over, they wont follow you into other rooms. Otherwise, maybe he's just hiding in the entryway.

I've had it happen once. Mallary wouldn't go into one room and her letter the next day said, "Next time, I'd like to see ALL your rooms."

Yeah he was asking to see the other rooms but wouldn't follow me into them!

I think it's because you didn't interact with them enough in the main room.
They can go to other rooms even if they invited themselves over. I did this with Tangy the other day.

I think it was because you didn't talk to them a few times in the main room. And be sure to talk to them in each room you take them to. Sometimes they do just stop in the doorway leading into the new room.

I just built another room on my main floor, the room to the left side. I already had a room on the second floor and a basement. Kyle visited me and asked to see my other rooms. He followed me to the basement, and he followed me to the second floor. But he would not follow me to the new room that I had furnished on the left side of the first floor.

I think it may be because the entranceway to that room is partially blocked. I am using my main room for feng shui, so I have tea sets on the floor in my main room. I have half of the entryway covered with the tea sets and the other half is open. It is plenty of room for my character or any character to run into that room, but there may be some sort of rule that both sides have to be open. I plan to test that out later.

Yeah if it's a play date they should follow you around, but if it's where they invite themselves over unannounced, they will only stay in the main room of the house.
