I know this is a really weird request but I'm willing to pay someone to tell me why trees never grow in certain areas, or only SOME trees do (like normal saplings do but cedar won't or my placement/amount of trees in one area is too much, etc.) because I'm too dumb to figure it out myself and spend time on that.

I'm pretty busy this weekend and next week but available any time tonight aside from a few periods where I'll be busy. just let me know!

btw I'd prefer to pay in TBT but if the IGB is reasonable I'll do it! thanks so much in advance!

sorry if i'm not the greatest at this ^^;

usually, trees won't grow directly next to rivers or anything bodies of water. same thing goes with rocks, PWPs, the train station, etc. also, palm trees can't go on land, just like how normal and cedar trees can't go on the shore o:

if you haven't exceeded 15 saplings in a 5x5 square area, you might have a dead spot? dead spots are places where trees won't grow even though there's room for it to do so! that might be the problem you're having?

Your town is divided in half, cedars will only be able to grow in the northern half.

i also gathered this from a thread:

when planting saplings, you can't surround one completely with other trees or it'll die.

x x x
x o x
x x x
(x=living tree
o=dead tree)

also to add:

if you plant in rows over the course of a few days you won't have the dead spaces

S S S first day
S S S

1 1 1 second day
1 1 1
S S S

2 2 2
2 2 2
1 1 1
S S S

S = Sapling
1 = 1st stage tree
2 = 2nd stage tree

i hope i was able to help!

don't apologize! you're very helpful!
I think my main problem might be the 15 trees thing, but i honestly don't know? I need to sit down and do some counting. I think I read something about how many trees can exceed a 16 space area once and got confused (or just misread) but your 5x5 rule makes more sense! I'm not even sure I have that many trees, though, but I definitely gotta check! thanks so much again!! C: nice to see you around!

also cedar saplings only grow on the north side of town fyi!!

I'm... a mess, I remember reading about this and I was like "wow that can't be true" but it is after all... my mind was probably warped by people who hack and have them in the south or something. welp, now I get it! thank you so much guys!!!

thank you so so much!! I remember seeing that and being confused thinking that if you even slightly surrounded a tree, like two were nearby, it would mess it up. I think my main problem is the cedar saplings in south part... if not Im gonna check this method and see what's up. thank you so much again dude!!! :D
