Collectibles you regret buying/selling/trading

I don't have any stories to share, I'm pretty happy with what I have so far. I don't see myself using the cherry and orange I bought a couple days ago, but I could always resell them or put them up for date-trading. Those are on the lower-end anyway

Same, except mine was a Pokéball, and I sold it for 600 TBT. I don’t know what I was thinking. I remember the transaction, and even the user I sold it to. I won’t mention their name, though, but I felt pretty stupid. I think it was in 2015 or something?

I’ve given away a lot of collectibles, including a Pokeball collectible a long time ago, but I wouldn’t say I regret any of it. If I wanted to, I could have way more TBT and collectibles than I have right now.

Spent a lot of it on username changes, giveaways, and various other things instead. I’m just not really a collectibles person…

after i returned from my couple-year hiatus from the forums back in 2020, i traded away my heart glow wand for a collectible i wanted more, not knowing how rare and hard to come by they are, so i definitely regret that decision the most. i also regret selling the other collectibles (rad feather & toy hammer) i traded it for, as well as the invader i got from an event that year, and jack. i thankfully was able to repurchase jack last year, but i’m still working on the other 4. i especially regret selling them now that i’m trying to own one of every collectible.

I had a Celeste plush, mom’s plush, and a few star fragments that I traded away as a package deal to get my Galaxy Egg during the Sleepover Event

Didn’t realize that Celeste would be so hard to get later on as it is basically god tier collectible.

I don’t fully regret it because now I have the Galaxy egg :3
But kinda sad because I want a Celeste

I remember I gave away a star wand before, and I sold a galaxy egg for merely 6k tbt.
I don't really feel regret, but I just thought it was interesting in hindsight how little I used to value these collectibles. Now both the star wand and the galaxy egg are worth a fortune. Thankfully, I got a galaxy egg again, which is nice. Star wand will always be pretty but I don't have many yellow collectibles and I prefer the heart wand a little more, so I'm okay with having given away my star wand. Would be nice to know who I gave it to though, because I genuinely don't remember, it's been like 6 years. ; w;

to be fair, pink and light blue houses are the least expensive of the bunch. I would wager getting both of them would cost ~800 tbt or less.

Pink and cyan houses aren't that expensive. I have a shop in Nook's Cranny and New Neighbor Network. I make around 80-300tbt from the both of those every couple of days

I made a post about it because I really want alot so that I can go on a villager hunt sometime and was so confused how so many people have thousands upon thousands of them and tons of rare diys for literally barely any TBT. It takes me like a whole entire month to get 50 if I am playing alot. Tell me your secrets please! I hope this isnt rude or it sounds like I am being mean because I dont want people to think that

I've been playing for a very long time + I have amiibo cards, including popular series 5 villagers. It doesn't take much to push villagers into boxes via amiibo. You can easily make 200-250nmt+ for Raymond on Nookazon. On top of that, I have a bunch of tickets saved up from cycling Sasha and Shino back when they were going for 350-600nmt

It's a shame scalpers have made it so much harder to get ahold of amiibo cards. Retailers need to be a better job of deterring them. Around Christmas, I went into Target to get my little cousin some Pokemon cards. I left with only two packs because they put a limit on how many you could buy in one day. On the other hand, I could empty the rack of Sanrio cards into my cart, and no one would say anything. I'm so happy was able to get ahold of the Sanrio series this go around. I missed them the last time. I remember when they were going for 300$ on Ebay. I bought an extra pack in case I lose or damage them.

Kind of a tangent, but the last trip I made to target, this grown man standing next to me initiated small talk: "this 2-pack limit is rough, isn't it?" He disintegrated when I told him it was for my baby cousin

I remember too! Like when they were a UK and Japanese exclusive! They were around 300 - 500 USD! It was INSANE. I had the UK versions from my Nanna but I never thought they would come out in America and when they did I was like YAY! I made sure that I went to the target with a TON of them on the self so that others could get their hands on them as I already have a set but eventually I got a pack! So now I have both! I really wish they would reprint series 1-4.5. I miss the fun of opoening packs and finding one of the few I still needed! Also series 4.5 is the WA series! I REALLY think they will reprint them soon as the Welcome amiibo series is being reprinted in the UK so fingers crossed we get a full series restock soon!!
