Cleaning the void?

If I a send a villager into the void, is there a way to "reset" the void so the villager will no longer be there and I can trade with people via wi-fi without them getting that unwanted move-in? Maybe some sort of TT method? I'm really desperate so any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT: From what I understand, visiting a town with 10 villagers clears up your void? Is that true?

Visiting someone with 10 villagers will clear your void.

I've heard the person you visit has a chance to spread your villager to someone else that visits them. I've personally never experienced that, so it could just be a rumor.

Ah, thanks! Now I just need to find a kindly soul who will let me visit their full town so I can clear my void.

EDIT: Also, does TTing affect it in any way? So if say, I TT forward, visit someone, then TT back?
