Clarification on Gracie's fashion check

I have been reading lots of stuff about Gracie's fashion check and would like clarification on one point.
I understand the clothes must be of the theme she asks for but do they have to be the same set?
What I mean is if she asks for cute and you have the bear costume do you also have to have the bear cap and pants? Or can it be any pieces mixed together so long as they fit the theme? Thanks
