Write short impressions on games you got for Christmas/Holidays.

The Simpsons Game (360)
Awesome. Making fun of video games in a video game? Perfect irony. I mean come on; what video game has references to Borat, Super Mario Bros, Call of Duty, Madden, Sonic, Need for Speed, and tons more? None other than this game. Personally I'd change a few of the controls around and it'd be gold.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Wii)
Mark my words right now. DO NOT get this title for the Wii. All fanboys and s out there prepared to be disappointed. You all thought using the Wiimote as a lightsaber would be a wonderful idea. We'll this game breaks your dreams. The game looks horrible, sounds horrible, and waving the god damn Wiimote like a lunatic drives you insane. I really hope that this game is better on the other consoles.

Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
Another one of Miyamoto's genius ideas are back. Super Mario Galaxy, as you have all probably heard, is close to godlike. Music is spectacular, game play never gets old... do I have to say any more?

Drawn to Life (DS)
A good title overall. It may seem more toward younger kids but anyone can get into it. Basically what happens is you first draw your own character and than the dieing town, will tell you what they need from the Book of Life. You go out, draw various things, and get the page of the Book of Life. It really is enjoyable getting to see your drawings, and if you're really creative you'll love it. I say give it a rent and try it out.

?!

Borat in the Simpsons Movie Game? Oh my. Now I must play it.
You got Drawn to Life? That game looks fun.
I played it before, but it wasn't my favorite, but it is still a good game, just not my style of game.

Call of Duty 4 (360)
A contender for game of the year of course- photo-realistic graphics, GREAT multiplayer and online system, intuitive campaign missions, interesting and emotional characters and story, tightest FPS controls around, and more. A must-buy.

Guitar Hero III (360)
The successor to GHII. Another great title, but in my opinion, the song selection is weaker than GHII's, but that's just my opinion. The new options and modes added are great, but it's not better than the second.

Rock Band (360)
My new favorite game of all time. The PERFECT party game, combines drums, guitar, bass, and vocals- a perfect mix with the tightest controls for each instrument, a COMPLETELY customizable interface, an amazing song set, fun gameplay, endless options and more. GET THIS! IT'S WORTH THE PRICE!

Gears of War (PC)
The port from the 360 to the PC. Adds new maps, a game mod program, a new multiplayer gametype, 5 new chapters, and more. It'll bring your system to it's knees, but if you can run it, it's just as good and at some points better than the original.

Crysis (PC)
While at it's core it has the best graphics around and solid gameplay, it's a pretty generic FPS- but the amazing physics and graphics make you look past that all. Questionable multiplayer, and odds are you won't be able to run it, but it's still an amazing game.

Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
EASILY the best Mario game I've EVER played- ever. The level design is amazing, the graphics are great, and I haven't found one problem with it yet. Totally deserves a GOTY nominee. Great controls, and it mixes the best of the old with the best of the new and some more. A fun co-op mode, and more. GET IT.

Metroid Prime: Corruption (Wii)
Haven't played it yet, will update.

What do you do in D2L?
Well it's a 2D Platformer and there's this village, which will serve as the main hub. Than you go out to levels and just basically get to the end collecting pages and saving villagers. Every once and awhile you'll come across a board and it'll ask you to draw something, like a platform or maybe a boat or something.

It's actually pretty neat.

Damn, for Hanukah I got a $50 Best Buy gift card. >.>

Star Wars Legos are best on regular consoles. They are amazing games on them.

The games I recieved are as follows:

Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree

The successor of "Big Brain Academy", this game includes fun games that actually benefit your brain; something unusual in a video game! A cool feature being that you can share "Student Scores" with your friends/family. A rating? 7.5 for educational purpose.

WiiPlay

This is a rather boring game. The minigames are all pertty basic while also be difficult at first. It introduces new games such as "Charge" and "Pose Mii". It brings a blast from the past with games such as "Laser Hockey"(Identical to regular Air Hockey) and Shooting Range (Similar to an ancient game: Duck Hunt) My rating for this game is 7.75 for the mix of old and new minigames.(My favorite being "Tanks"!

Personally, Wii Play deserved a lower score than what you gave it. Maybe a 6/10?

Well, this year for Christmas I received for Christmas were:

Wii Zapper-6.5(?)
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams-Writing a review for it
Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure-9.5(?)
DK: Jungle Climber-7.8(?)
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass-9.2(?)

(?)= Score may change

My little sister got it (she's big into art), and she liked it.

Snoop... may I ask why you don't like the Zapper? I went to my friends house and played with it. It's pretty awesome. (Are you holding it correctly?)

Guitar Hero III:
Pretty much what I expected. I hate how I have to unlock almost every song. I don't want to do some career mode that does not have any story at all. I just want to set some high scores, then go online, then set some more high scores. I also hate the battles with the "legends." It seems slopped together in my opinion. The game is still very fun, though.

Madden NFL 2008:
The only game where I have a slight disappointment is Madden. Too much is the exact same from 2007, so it leaves me feeling slightly ripped off. Also, the controls completely flipped from 2007 to 2008. In 2007, B was to dive, Z was to run. No it is B to run, C to dive, and who on Earth knows what the Z button does. Other than those gripes, the tackling system is MUCH improved, John Madden actually has some interesting things to say, and there are some online features for me to fool around with now.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker:
Wow. I only wanted the game because it was another Dragon Quest spin-off game (I loved Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime). Wow. This game is everything the Pokemon series needs to be. It is very similar, just in 3D. You see the monsters (or Pokemon) in the wild before you battle them. If you run into them ,you go into a battle. Just like Pokemon should be. The battle system is very basic, but has some features that Pokemon should have. You can set battle tactics to your monsters so you can quickly choose "Attack" and your monster will automatically choose an attack that fits what you want to do, so you can breeze right through annoying battles if you want. Nintendo, pay attention to this game.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass:
I usually try to ignore Nintendo's big titles so I don't over-hype, but I just completely over-looked this game. The controls are amazing. The story has been set-up nicely, the graphics look much better on the DS screens than in screenshots, and overall, this is one of the best-balanced games I've played in a while. I'm not very far, but I can already tell any DS owner that they need to get this game, along with Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker.

I'll have something to add later, I haven't gotten around to playing any VGs I got yet. :r

Madden 08 for the Wii was slightly dissapointing. The Z/B fliiped controls are hard to get used to, the graphics at times are some of the worst I have ever seen. Ever. And there is no customization at all.

The gameplay is still solid, though,

On the 360 is a great game. I remember having an argument with someone on the Wii boards as to why I will be getting 08 on the 360 and not the wii (I didn't get the game for either for many good reasons) I argued the graphics, gameplay, and the amount of people/friend playing on the 360 is greater than the wii's. He said no, I'm a noob, and to go sit in my corner, and that I'm stupid.

I prefer the controls on Wii but Madden on the 360 is so much better all-around.
