Changing clothes?

Is there a way to force a villager into actual shirts? Not designs, but shirts from the Able a Sisters and Gracie Grace.

Keep sending the villager the shirt in the mail, eventually it will wear it

Send them four at once. Sending them one by one will increase the chances of the shirts ending up in their home and inventory, not as the one they wear. :3

I've sent my villagers four every time and it always worked.
