Changing catchphrase question

Gayle asked me if she needed a new catchphrase and I changed it, later I talked to Goldie and she was using Gayle’s new catchphrase. Is there a way to fix it? Or is this normal? Once you change someone’s catchphrase will it still allow you to change it again in the future?

it's normal they pick up each others sayings. (i learned the hard way) they ask to change it after a while like a few days to weeks depending.

yup, other villagers can copy catchphrases, and the only way to get rid of them is to reset their catchphrase with Isabelle or change it when they ask again. But either way they might end up picking up the catchphrase again from someone else
