Cedars All Dying? North-Half Myth?

Hi guys, I just wanted someone to confirm the fact that cedars only grow in the northern half of the town. I had a whole LOT of cedars grown in a good place and they died as saplings but the deciduous trees (with leaves not needles) all flourished. After some research I saw that someone said on another forum that the cedars will only grow on the north half of the town? is this true??

I assume that the Cedars only growing in the north references that the further north you are the cooler it is. Like how in Population Growing all my cedars only grew on higher elevations.

Because cedar trees grow in colder climates, which is the north (unless you live in South America or Australia).

Coconut trees only grow near the beach (south).

Yes, I think I've tried to plant them all over and they also died in the bottom half of town.

I've known about this, but I kind of wish you could plant cedar trees throughout town, since it would make the forest theme a little easier to create. I guess having different sectors for town is nice too, though.

Although this is a smart idea it is a little annoying! I have a forest themed town and i would to be able to plant them everywhere!

You have to imagine that the northern part of your town is the 6360km above the equator and your southern part the 6360km under. Animal Crossing is unfortunately not completely on realistic scale, sorry to tell you that ( ;?Д?)

Are you frickin srs?! I planned to put my campsite in a southern part of my town and then plant cedars all around it. This sucks ass there's no other good spots
