Catalog Maniac Badge (Gold)

I just got the Catalog Maniac Badge! I am really pleased about this, and you will be too if you haven't already gotten yours - here's why.

I only have about 27% of the new Amiibo content catalogued. According to my app, I have most of the original content (gyroids, music, fortune cookies, and regular clothing and furniture) at about 80% or higher.

I was starting to worry that just when the finish line was in sight that the Amiibo items had added extra miles to the race!

If, like me, you were close to getting a gold badge when the the Amiibo content arrived, you will not have to work extra hard to get the badge.

What is it, 500 Streetpasses? 1000 Streetpasses? Whatever you need for the gold Streetpass badge, it's more systems than my DS has Streetpassed with in its life, even including duplicates and ignoring the fact that most people don't have New Leaf. Certainly the most unrealistic badge when major cities don't even give a single hit. Most of my Streetpasses came from rare wanders into M&S, which stopped doing the Streetpass Relay thing after a while.

Yup. I have no idea how to achieve this, short of going to a gaming con or something like that, which is not something I typically do on my own. I have heard that some people have organized Streetpass meetups. I haven't been able to find one near me though, and I imagine that's really only possible in larger population zones. I have no idea how someone in a rural area would ever get the badge without major work on their part. It's an annoying aspect of the game, really, because it's so necessarily limited.
