Can your starter villagers have their original interior?

Kid Cat is one of my starter villagers that I would like to keep forever, but I also want the interior he is supposed to have. Same goes for Fauna, since she was part of my original 3 who moved in after Kid Cat.
Will they get their original house at some point? If they wont, what do I have to do to get their actual house decor they are supposed to have?

The way to get their actual interior is by letting them move out and reinviting them. I believe - I am not 100% since it was awhile since I read about this (so take this as a grain of salt), if someone adopts them from you as well as if you choose to adopt them from the person you give them to, they should have their original house.

I’m wondering this as well because I’ve been wanting to get Dom out of his starter house. My roommate said I could use her Island. I guess I could go try this today but it would be a lengthy process if it doesn’t turn out and I don’t have much time to waste lately.

I believe @Damniel did this with Bam a while ago. Do you remember if you adopted Bam back the day was he unpacking on the other island?

If you adopt the exact same villager you gave away, they should still remember you.

i invited him when he was put in boxes on the other island. I was only TTd a day after he moved out tho and invited him just fine

but anyways way if you move out and invite back the same villager they’ll remember you

Also confirming the move out - reinvite thing works to have a villager "remember" you and maintain friendship levels. I've used my boyfriend's island to move Beau out and back in so that he could have his real interior and am planning to do the same for Fauna and Deirdre when they ask to move. When Beau moved back in I could gift him things immediately (instead of having the 2-3 day period where they have to warm up to you first) and he gave me the special Lazy react that you can only get at Level 5 of friendship at the right "timeline" for never having moved out.
