Can you refurbish the same item?

Can you earn the refurbish badge, just by simply refurbishing the same furniture over an over?
Or does it have to be a new, un-refurbished furniture?

I know you can refurbish something you already refurbished, and since you have to wait and pay all over again I don't see why refurbishing that same item wouldn't count towards your number of items.

I earned the badge but I actually refurbish a load of items all the time so if I'm wrong, I'm sorry in advanced!
