Can you get a amiibo villager to move into your town by visiting someone who has one?

Just wondering. I wanted to go to someone's town who has Inkwell and get him to move in.

I don't think so. Whether or not when they move out from someone else's town if they can move to another town is yet to be tested. I seriously wish someone would test this with me

You can't adopt special amiibo characters sadly. Some have already tried it and it didn't work. You're going to have to purchase the amiibo if you want him in your town.

I was wondering the same thing too, but then how would the campground work when playing online with people? I mean if you have scanned an amiibo and their mobile home is still there and someone joins you does that mean a friend can ask the villager in the mobile home to move in to their town instead? Oh and another question, if you moved in villagers with the use of amiibo will they ever move out? Or are they like a permanent villager in the town?

^ that's what I was wondering as well. So far none of the villagers I've moved in from amiibo cards have asked to leave. Requires further testing, but I'd love to know if someone has already tt'd to see.

From what I can tell, the amiibo villagers would need to be kicked out, I tried out w link and splatoon villagers in my second town and nobody asked to move, I had to force it. Just wanted to try and see if they could be adopted out but I can confirm it's not possible.
Not sure how the new amiibo cards/villagers will work though....
