Can someone please confirm for me that the ray exists?!

I've been fishing for three hours now. All the guides say that the ray should be catchable now. I've caught dozens of red snappers, barred knifejaw, olive flounders... I've even caught a few coelacanth, giant trevally and sturgeons... But no ray.

I'm 99% sure this is just bad RNG but can someone please confirm that they exist?

Can confirm. Witnessed a friend catch it months ago. I think I also caught for the first time weeks ago as well. I'll have to double check on that tho.

Yes they exist! I have caught two randomly so far, in august though.

I would show you but I'm EST and they stopped coming out at 9 pm. I can show you a shot of the entry in the critterpedia if you'd like, but I'm guessing you seen this in those guides you looked at.

Haha, thanks all. I was mostly joking about "do they exist?" All the guides wouldn't say they do if they didn't. But I've never had this much trouble catching anything in the series, and I've been playing since the Gamecube. And they're only worth 3,000 bells!

We're talking about the one caught in the beach ocean right? I remember getting one. I don't know if I ever got an additional 3 for CJ's model. I don't remember doing anything out of the ordinary to get one to spawn. I find crafting for fish bait to be really tedious, so I don't remember using any either. Just keep at it. It's bound to happen eventually. I still haven't gotten that MahiMahi pier fish. Might be too late now.

2 islands and 5 players have caught a couple of Ray. During the fishing tournament 2 players caught bonus ones.
