I mean, I get it (don't exactly know how I'm earning it- I'm guessing by posting/getting my posts liked or something?) but... I don't understand why it's valuable? I feel like I'm missing something- I've had two people ask for it in exchange for trades, and I just wanna know why people want to collect it? I mean, the shop I guess, but there's not much there right now... does it sometimes have cool expensive stuff?

I just want to understand 😂

You can get some tbt by posting and responding to replies! Tbt can be used in the shop for collectibles, or you can use it to get in-game items from people's shops around the site! I hope this helps :)

Ah, that explains how I keep earning it 😂
And so it's just used in the shop on here and to trade for in-game items, then? Okay... still confused as to the appeal but good to know, thanks!

You earn TBT (the currency here) by creating threads and posting in them! Basically, being active on the forum.
I believe TBT exists mainly to purchase collectibles to have a cool lineup for aesthetic purposes (you can purchase collectibles either in shop or in the TBT Marketplace). There're lots of collectibles and most of them are not available in the shop and can be only acquired through trading with other users.
But if collectibles don't appeal to you, you can always spend TBT on animal crossing items, services or even art commissions (in Museum Shop) ☺

Oh, I like the collectibles, it's just the ones in the shop don't interest me much 😝 But maybe that just means I need to trade with others, then! And art commissions! That's cool, I'll have to check that out!
...I've been trying to get better at drawing and it's... going okay 😅

My issue is that I don't know how much things are worth. I have close to a thousand and I have no idea if that can't afford lunch or if I'm a Venetian Prince at this point.

And then I have two inventory items. All confusing ^^'

a thousand is pretty high! in terms of collectibles, (which are those inventory items) this thread will give you a good idea of what things are worth. animal crossing items + art are a little more variable imo and up to the seller to determine the value of things.

my best advice (to everyone in here that's confused honestly) is just to browse some threads, whether it's collectible threads in the TBT marketplace or ACNH shops. just skim through stuff and you'll get a good feel for how tbt transactions generally go.

collectibles, yeah not much in the shop atm, but hopefully the fair will introduce some new ones; otherwise ppl use them for trading other collectibles, or to trade in-game items from tbt-based shops

collectibles don't rlly do anything other than make the side bar under your profile look snazzy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The appeal is really dependent on the person, personally I like to trade in game items for in game items and spend my tbt on artwork in the museum board or for collectibles. ultimately what you do with it is up to you!
