Can perfect fruit grow in your town

if it's not your native fruit? Even if somebody gives you a perfect fruit that's nonnative and you plant it?

I've heard that you can't but never heard for sure.

Nope. Only your native fruit can grow perfect trees for your town. The nonnative perfect fruit will just die if you plant it.

I thought it only just grows as the normal fruit, not the perfect version.

If it died, it means you planted it in a dead spot. Perfect non native fruit I've planted grows into a regular fruit bearing tree.

No. Say if I planted a perfect pear and it wasn't my native fruit, it'd turn into a normal pear.

If you plant a perfect non native fruit, it will turn into a normal fruit tree.

Definitely not. I've tried it once and it didn't work, and other people have said it doesn't work too. Like Megatastic said, it just reverts back to a regular fruit tree.
