Hi all! New to the game. I’ve been struggling to get iron nuggets to build the shop as there’s only 1 or 2 rocks that spawn on my island a day and they usually only give me clay. Anyone willing to let me come smash some rocks on their island, or have some iron they’re willing to give me? I don’t really have anything of value to trade at the moment

If you don't destroy the rocks completely, you will have the 6 rocks every day.

I don’t have any rocks at the moment but you can find more rocks on mystery islands if you take a tour.

How do you take a tour? Is that with the Nook Miles Ticket?

Like Mil said, you arent really supposed to break the rocks, you're supposed to hit them 8 times to get randomly either iron, rock, clay, or gold nuggets.

And, just to expand on the two posts above, don't eat fruit before you hit the rocks, and use a flimsy or stone axe to hit the rocks. You will be able to hit each rock up to nine times a day, and you will save wear on your iron tools.

You can't hit rocks on other people's islands, only on Nook Mile Ticket islands. Go to them by taking the ticket to the airport.

How do you take a tour? Is that with the Nook Miles Ticket?

Yes, you take a nook miles ticket to the airport and choose to take the tour. It will take you to a mystery island that has a combination of flowers, fruit trees, rocks, etc. There are also bamboo islands and even money islands. It’s random what you get but on each island you can shake trees for a free item that falls and some have a fossil you can dig up. And usually also one diy recipe from a bottle on the beach.

People usually go hunting for villagers this way as well.

Make sure when you hit the rocks you haven’t eaten any fruit or you’ll smash them in one go. Just hit them repeatedly until you can’t anymore and leave the rock if you want to keep it. If you do want to destroy it then eat a piece of fruit AFTER you’ve gotten your materials from it and then smash it.
