I kind of want a present to fall on a table surface but I'm not sure this is possible. Will a present just bounce off and go on the ground?

Unfortunately, no. The presents always seem to land on the ground, even if you shot it above a table. I tried it recently on a log dining table, and it just bounced right off.

Beware of that because my first gold balloon fell into a seashell table with a seashell lamp on it and didn't even bounce back, just disappeared.

Does anyone else think that it's weird that we can even lose presents in the first place? I guess it makes sense if there's really no space for it to land on, but it always just looks so strange to see a present (or fruit) just shrink and disappear.

Now that I think about it, it is really strange. Guess they didn't had a better idea of what would happen to a present if it lands on a spot with no space at all, hence why they decided to just let it shrink and disappear like that. Alternative, it could have appear on a random place somewhere on the island where space is, but guess that would have been also strange to explain how that can work...

I actually really like this idea! I'm sure there are other things in AC that can't be explained, like how fossils always randomly show up every day or how pieces of furniture fall from trees.

Hm, true, didn't thought about the other strange things you can't really explain in the game. Guess having a present randomly appear wouldn't be a big problem after all, lol.

Balloon presents should appear in the storage bin if they disappear :( I lose so many. Yesterday one hit a pile of rocks on the rocky beach cliff area, and it still disappeared even though there was nothing on the ground around it! Devastating </3

This is another good solution!

They gonna just disappear if they couldnt find an empty spot of land to land on. I am pretty sure it was like this too in nl because i recall having to erase a tile of my path before shooting them down. It was pretty annoying! Not sure about custom paths on nh, though.

Having them fall in water and being lost makes sense. I shot a balloon and it fell on a flower and it had several places it could bounce to be saved, but it decided to hop onto a flower next to it and vanish. I feel like with instances like this it's not the fault of the player and should be sent to lost and found. Only when it falls in water should it get lost forever.

Cause your villager doesn't even do an emotion to portray that it happened. In NL at least your villager did the shock emote if it fell on a path or something and was lost.

Custom paths in NH seem to be safe! Most of my paths are custom, and I have yet to lose one to my paths.
