Can amiibo villagers move to other people's towns?

So, if you scan an amiibo card and have that villager move into your town, could that villager, if moving away, be taken by someone else? Or are amiibo villagers unable to be "adopted" like regular ones?

I was just curious since I found out that a lot of my favorite villagers from older games are now available as amiibos. I have an old 3DSXL and I don't have a card/figure scanner so it would be difficult for me to use the cards.

I heard that villagers who move in through amiibo cards don't ask to move. can anyone confirm or deny that? I just bought an amiibo reader for less than 20 dollars online

I heard that special villagers like the new zelda ones can't be adopted! Someone told me earlier that it is possible for the regular scanned in villagers to move out and be adopted.

I figured the special ones couldn't be adopted.

But if someone has Stella in their town, could I ask her to move to my town even though she's not a regular villager?

I think you can adopt amiibo villagers. For example, I scanned in Marcie and made her move in, then when I had 10 villagers, I was allowed to force her to move out. Amiibo villagers can be adopted just like normal villagers, I'm not sure about the special ones like the Legend of Zelda ones though, sorry.

Once you hit the 10 villager cap, does it let you choose who gets to move out?

Yes it does let you choose who moves out.

And you can get special villagers to move in, I have Epona in my town. As for adopting one I don't see why they wouldn't be able to if they decide to leave normally.

I'm sure if Epona ever pinged me to move and I said yes, she would be more than able to be adopted as long as the person who's getting her has the update too.
