Campsite visitor rate and amiibos

I’m sure this is answered somewhere but I can’t find it. Does inviting an amiibo camper to your island reset the camper probability (ie, is it back to zero the next day?) I was testing out using an amiibo card, but I still really want to get random campers.

Yes, I think so - I can't remember when/where I read it, but I believe an amiibo counts as a campsite visitor and resets your probability. If you just want to test if the amiibo works, you can scan them on Harv's island.

Last I heard, here is the probability:

Days since last camper / chance of new camper

1 day / 0%
2 days / 0%
3 days / 5%
4 days / 10%
5 days / 15%
6 days+ / 20%

I think it resets. I never had an experience when a random camper came in the day after scanning an amiibo or even 2 days after.

Aww, so disappointing. I bought some amiibo cards of villagers I really want to (probably) ultimately have on my island, but I love the randomness of the campsite and island hopping. I like not knowing exactly what villager I will get. I was hoping I could have it both ways and visit with the villagers in the amiibo cards without messing up other stuff. Ah well, I can always hope to get wildly lucky and get a camper within 5 or 6 days.
If anyone finds and documented information please share. I have no reason to doubt what people are saying, but I always like to have something to read.

I’ve never really done anything with harv’s island but the bare minimum to get some wedding stuff. I admit I don’t really understand the point (I’m new to the ac world, though I have over 600 hours playing acnh). Maybe it is worth experimenting.

as someone who used to invite a lot via amiibo to get diy's, and to invite a villager generally, i never get a random visitor the next days after i scanned someone. so it does count to a campsite villager.

By experience, it does. If you're long without a camper I would wait until it comes to scan in an amiibo, otherwise you'll wait much longer
