How long does it take to convince a villager from your campsite to move in? :L

I've been trying to get Punchy to move in for the last half hour ahah.

Note:
9 villagers at the moment, no house plots.

In my experience, you have to play games with them until you convince them to stay.

I got Lily after I played a couple of guessing games with her, asked her to move in, she agreed c:

Okay, thanks haha.
I'll just keep pestering him then ahah c;

The first thing Cookie asked me was if she could move in, while I had to play games with Julian for like 40 minutes to get him.

yuss haha x)
If you're unsuccessful, try again with the next campsite resident, or streetpass/visit another town.

That usually triggers a move if you can't get one randomly through the campsite.

Yeah, I got Lily very easily.
Others I've played and played and eventually just given up xD lol

Ankha took about 5 games and three times of convincing. But, she eventually agreed to move in.

This is taking forever ahah.
He keeps saying he thinks he wants to move, I say he should and he says something about the water in his old town haha, or not wanting to. :/
Am I doing something wrong? xDD I've been playing games, etc.

You're not doing anything wrong, sometimes it just randomly doesn't happen.
Unless they just take a billion games to convince xDD

That's actually really odd haha, usually my campers ask after a few conversations with them. But maybe if you wait a couple minutes, or do some stuff around town then go back into the tent and chat with them again, they'll say something about moving.

sometimes they will play a game with you, if you win they move in, however if you lose they take something worth a lot of money from your inventory for FREE it's like they're stealing!!

It always take about 10 times of asking them to move in before they agree for me. Perseverance is key, it took me ages to get Ankha to move in but I'm really glad I did :). Congrats on getting him!
