Neat! Thanks for making this, I love this kind of thing.

Thanks for yet another informative list! The evening cicada really has a lovely name IRL.

Haha I really love your side comments. It's crazy how much AC has helped me identify actual bugs (and fish) in real life. I live in a humid country so at the time when I lived with my room mate we started noticing our house was just littered with these tiny white cocoons in certain parts (like behind our bathroom door grossss) and we had no idea when they were. Then suddenly it clicked, because I had seen something similar in the game... it was the freakin bagworm!

The first time I realized how big some of the horned beetles were irl, I screamed. TOO BIG.

Lol! I totally agree! I remember looking up those beetles too and I literally freaked out when I saw the pictures. I really don't like bugs after seeing that. XD

Also, thanks for the list! The real names are very interesting. :P

Thanks everyone!
2kimi2furious : Yep, welcome to Japan and tropical areas. :]
dizzy bone : Thanks, I just added that since the last lists seemed...boring. owo Bagworms...I've never seen one but they seem like a pest. These beetles are too entitled and fleas/centipedes have too many legs that are thicc. ;]
Rosered22 : Thanks! Heh, welcome to Japan and tropics. The most interesting name I saw was Oriental Longheaded Grasshopper.

I can't speak to most of the animals in this list, but I have hands on work experience with tarantulas and am also a student of animal science, and the tarantula in the game doesn't look like any rose hair tarantulas I've worked with. The red-knee or Chaco golden knee might be closer to the colors of the game arachnid

Love these lists, and I'm glad it's not Japanese giant hornet they are based off....(run!)

Ah, added past games. The coconut crab...don't look them up, they'll give you nightmares.

I just did, bad idea xD

I'm scarred. Honestly, them on the palm tree is enough, but the trash can for scale. NOPE! But, they live in the tropics.
More specific...Guam, The Philippines, Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands (Japan), Sulawesi and Java (Indonesia), Mauritius, Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Northern Mariana Islands and Seychelles.
Basically, Northern Indian Ocean and West Pacific Ocean.

I just looked at it too and omigosh... I think I'm scared of those things... O.O

Oof, I realized...since they live on land and at a variety of places...a TBT user could see a coconut crab. Hoo, that's something.
