Hey so I found a guide for breeding tulips. These are how you breed them:

Pink Tulips:
  • Red & White
  • Yellow & Red
  • Red & Red

Orange Tulips:
  • Yellow & Red
  • Yellow & Yellow
  • Red & White

Black Tulips:
  • Red & Orange
  • Black & Black
  • Red & Red

Purple Tulips:
  • Red & Orange
  • Yellow & Red
  • Purple & Purple

So my question is: For Orange & Pink Tulips can I not breed them by using Orange & Orange + Pink & Pink? If so, why can I do it for Black & Purple? Also wouldn't it just make sense that you could put 2 of the same color together and get the same color? I am so confused!

I think that you can actually grow flowers that are a certain colour using flowers of that same colour as the "parents", too. In fact, I've grown many hybrids like that! ;) Also, it's more likely that you'll get the exact flowers you need.

You can definitely breed two of the same colored flowers and get the same colored offspring. Also, you can grow black tulips from orange x orange, it's happened tons of times in my town.
