Bought a Villager, Old Clothes stuck on

You can complain to Isabelle about it, but that only temporarily fixes their clothes I believe 
I had the same problem with Julian, so I just kept on giving him his default starry jacket he usually wears until he’d usually just wear that instead lol.

Wow didn't realize that if you complain to Isabelle the villager will continue to wear the custom design, I thought this was an instant fix like in New Leaf. I also have someone from another town wearing a custom design, but thankfully its one I can tolerate. I'm sorry you are frustrated! If its any help, the villager I have doesn't wear the custom design very often anymore since I have been giving her a lot of different outfits
the outfit on mine is also COVID-19 related... so its just weird lol at this point i rather kick him out its Beau btw

To be fair, I haven't tried this after the update, so who knows
I have, he still keeps wearing it... i think im just better off kicking him out and getting a Beau from someone else or on an Island in the near future lolTo be fair, I haven't tried this after the update, so who knows
In that case, like I sad, if you complain every time you see him with it, the less-likely he is to wear it.... but honestly, we shouldn't be having to go through all this trouble to begin with

Slight tangent, but does anybody else feel like Nintendo really dropped the ball with being unable to remove custom designs?
The whole point of complaining to Isabelle was to remove offensive clothing from villagers got over the internet, but if she doesn't remove that then that's extremely serious. I know it's annoying if they don't suit them, but if the clothes actually have swears on them or something offensive why can't we remove them completely? It just baffles me that a family friendly game wouldn't have a guaranteed way to remove custom clothes.

That's unfortunate. This is why I don't display custom designs in my Able's (and don't let visitors go there either since for some reason they can put up designs....like why). Maybe in the future you can find Beau again - this time with no custom designs
