Boot then add back via Amiibo?

I have Ozzie and he is not going anywhere but he was one of my 1st and has the basic house. I have his Amiibo card and want to boot him (it will pain me to see him gone for even 5 minutes) then add him back via the Amiibo. This way I can keep him and he can shed that gaudy house they put him in...

How is the Q. It takes 3 days to add someone via Amiibo right even if you have open plot? During that time it might get filled with a random.

Yes, it takes 3 days to add back the Amiibo villager.

How you secure it is like this:
Day 1: Summon the amiibo as soon as someone declared as leaving (unless you booted them out via Amiibo then, sad to say, it'll be replaced by a rando unless you had a 2-day scanned villager.)
Day 2: Summon them again as the villager is boxing.
Day 3: Scan them again as the plot is already freed up. (Yes. No more waiting.)

You can't kick the same villager with their own Amiibo (I think you can't even summon them if they're your villager.) so...yea.

There's no cooldown on summoning Amiibos. I could swap Ankha all day long if I want to. Though, make sure you don't repeatedly use the same plot again and again. I think the "I've moved out" glitch triggers this way as well. (It's tied to the "recent villager" thing. Never kick them out until Nintendo patches it.)

Also I trade and give villagers all the time and it's what I observed from my constant Amiibo use anyways.

My plan then will be to add one of my Amiibo's into the game and have them boot Ozzie. The same day they settle in I'll start the 3 day process of booting them out with Ozzie's Amiibo card.

The little guy will then have a proper house!

Sounds good! I wish I had Mira's amiibo because I too don't like the "day 1" villager interior she has. Though, I've decided to replace her for Diana soon. Glad I could help!
