Blue roses

How exactly do I get them? I've seen some people say to breed red+ roses and others saying to breed orange and purple. Having no luck with either. Which is the right way to get them?

You're supposed to breed orange and purple roses to get what are called "hybrid" red roses, which aren't the same as regular red roses; they specifically have to come from orange and purple roses. Then you have to breed the hybrid red roses together, which I have never been able to do, like, ever. Unless you are really determined to do it yourself then I say get your blue roses off of TBT.

If you breed the red roses, they have to be hybrid red roses. Which means that you have to breed red roses to get the blue roses. What would be easier is to just buy 2 blue roses on here and then breed them. But if you insist on breeding them yourself, then go to thonky.com, look for the ACNL guide then go to the hybrid guide. I was, luckily, capable of doing it, exactly the way Grim Sleeper explained it. It took me around ~100 days, though.
The problem was, that I managed to be that stupid to somehow mix up my red roses, so I did no longer trust them and breed "special" red (or "'hybrid' red", as Grim Sleeper calls them) from orange and purple all over again from scratch.
But once you have a blue one, they spawn very easy. The burden, in my opinion, is, to get your first "pair", so you can breed.

Got it! Was getting confused with how you get the hybrid reds. Will keep trying! I haven't even make any hybrids reds though yet in that case, I check everyday....
Will persevere for a bit longer! I grew everything else so I really want to grow these myself too

I tried that for weeks without success before someone gave me one blue rose. I put it next to the red hybrids and the morning after I had my new blue roses.

Having access to a golden watering can, fertiliser and a golden shovel also really help!

To prevent confusion about which red roses are hybrid, you can store them in the fence or flower pwp as villagers won't plant anything in them. Or you can move your attempts to the beach where they're less likely to plant new flowers (though I have caught them doing it).

Thank you for the advice guys! I might have to cave in and get a blue rose off somebody....I just really really wanted to grow my own! So frustrating that they're this difficult. And I haven't got access to fertiliser yet either :-( maybe ill try and get some of that from somebody and give it a go

I have the utmost gaming respect for anyone who successfully breeds their own blue roses. I grew frustrated and bought a pair; I now have more than I can count.

It took me almost a month to breed a single blue rose. I used the red hybrid/orange rose combination. It takes patience. But once you breed your first, they breed like rabbits!

I've been trying and trying too. It's so hard! I am also stubborn about not getting hybrids from someone else, not the first one at least. I have 3 hybrids left to get on my own. :T

I have strange rules I what I allow myself to 'cheat' a little with in the game. I don't mind getting furniture and tools from somebody else as at some point I would acquire them on my own quite easily. But when it comes to my hybrid garden I like that to be all original to me
I'm getting some fertiliser today and I'll plant them on the beach as has been suggested. Wish me luck!

Oh and I know getting hybrids off somebody else isn't actually cheating, it's just something that I am trying to resist allowing myself to do
