Wow, there are some plot twists already and I'm not even halfway through the 2nd disk. Blue Dragon will have to hold for a bit as I start to learn a new language and Halo 3 coming out.

Must get game for RPG lovers!

How does the damage system work? Turn by turn?
Yes, Turn by turn, you also have charged attacks which change how soon your next turn is (The longer you charge the later you attack but the more powerful the attack is) Once you get the hang of it, you will be able to kill 10 enemies without letting them take one turn.

On Disk 3 now. What an amazing game. Shu is just amazing. The story is just fantastic.
Ah, a fellow Blue Dragon fan! Not many of those on the NSider forums...or any forum to say the least

:) I just started my journey the other day and am only a small part of the way in the first disk...though I've spent 3 hours just clicking A on everything and exploring as well as leveling up each of my shadow classes...this is most definitely a FUN game!

You interested in Eternal Sonata by any chance? I'm picking this up tomorrow as I absolutely loved the demo!

Yes...I know it WAS for Nintendo people and it already is gone...just making a statement...in poor taste obviously.

I heard that cutscenes constitute a lot of the game's size. I may be wrong though.

But Eternal Sonata looks AMAZING. <3

The FMV sequences are pretty big in production values and that does add to the games length...gives a lot of reasons for people to say MS should have gone to the HD-DVD or Blu-ray format cause of this...I personally don't mind switching the discs (when it comes to that).

As for Eternal Sonata...the demo was kick butt and the gameplay was pretty sweet...only downside is that it's purely a LINEAR adventure and not much exploration can be done.

Be sure to unlock Generalist class for all your players

;)

Also, the disk switching isn't bad at all. Each end of disk is after something you would expect in a top rate movie.

The beginning of the 3rd disk is just great though.

You know...I figured out the generalist class for Shu when it came to my first level up...but then I stupidly did Barrier Magic for Jiro and Support Magic for Kluke as my first picks...the next one for each will certainly be Generalist cause obviously the extra skill slots will come in handy hehe.

I actually didn't change classes until later in the second disk when I remembered you could. I at first gave Shu some Monk skills, Jiro Black Magic, and Kluke White. Now, that I have Generalist 18 for everyone, I have Shu an Assassin (Got every skill on Sword Master) Kluke and Jiro are leveling up in Black Magic (Jiro has everything I want in white) and I have two other characters (I'm going to let you find them out ;)) Who are now Sword Masters since they are done in either monk or assassin.

The only problem there is with doing this is that 2 of my front 3 have hardly any MP. But that isn't so bad when Shu or Kluke can easily send out 1000 damage.

After playing the Demo...I don't think the other two characters are really a surprise to me

;)

As to your strategy, that's pretty good stuff....sounds similar to what I was planning...just earlier of course

:)

One question...does the "Nothing" stuff net me anything? When I check a bunch of stuff...I get "Nothing"...seems kind of redundant...but the explorer in me likes to look under every nook and cranny.

Nothings are wonderful things

;) When you get to the Castle Town, meet the man under the bridge and he will help you out

Allright...I figured as much because it seemed pointless to have my character actually search something and then return the result of "Nothing"...now that I know it has some significance, I feel better so thanks!

I could understand HD-DVD, but then you would still need the HD-DVD sidecar. But Blu-Ray? Why use the competitors product (not only for consoles but for format)?

I read a bit about Eternal Sonata and I'm probably gonna get it sometime after I finish Blue Dragon and Halo 3.

What kind of battle system does it have?

The battle system is pretty neat actually! When you run into an enemy, your party and you square off one or two or more characters. The battlefield is split between light and dark, each element altering what your enemy as well as their attributes look like along with your attacks.

It starts off as basic turn based combat...but as you evolve, it becomes real time...so basically when your "turn" comes up for each character, you are given a "set" time to inflict damage (start off with I think 5 seconds to work combos and work your way up as you gain more experience and whatnot). It's a very intuitive system and I highly recommend you download the demo off XBL as that will give you the best idea

;)
