Blue dot phenomenon

I often see a blue dot on my game when I return to my home screen to add someone's FC. What does it mean? Pete already visited me with the new spot-pass item but the dot keeps returning. Am I missing something?

Have you tried checking the notifications list with the blue dot? I know the blue dot means spotpass but it might be something you've missed in the game that the notifications window can tell you. And have you picked up spotpass on all of your characters? And all of your games? And have you updated your system?

It can be that you either got a spotpass home(they distribute them that way too nowadays) or there is a new DLC you don't get from Pete.

The notifications are empty and the game is up-to-date. I'll check with Digby if anything changed there.

I was wondering about the exact same thing a couple of months back. I looked it up and read that it is that sombody visited your town with the dream suite. Maybe you can check in with the dream suite to see if the number of people who visited your town is increasing.

Quick(and a bit dumb) question: How do you get Spotpass things? Update data?

yes, it means someone dreamt of your town. when I see a blue dot and I can't find a spotpass, I go talk to luna and find out who the most recent person is -- it will be someone new. You don't have to get the number, just ask about this town's dream and she'll give you the name of the most recent dream visitor.
