Best way to cycling out villagers?

what's been working for me decently is just setting the clock 20 days forward and then scanning my island for thought bubbles sometime in the afternoon. often there's already someone who wants to move out after those 20 days but if there isn't, I start TTing day by day and within the next few days (usually 1-3) there will be someone. if it's not someone I want out, I TT 20 days again and repeat the process, or if I don't want to end up too far into the future, I return to the current date and start again from there. it's pretty straightforward. it's probably not the best method out there but it does work. you can get several villagers wanting to move within half an hour, in my experience it often takes approx 5-10 mins for someone to ask.

also, in my experience it doesn't really matter if you talk to villagers or not, or who you talk to. and I haven't tested it but it might be faster to get villagers out if you TT more than 20 days at once. if someone's tried that I'd like to know~

Do you save each time?

Do you save each time?
ah, I had a feeling I forgot something important, sorry!! yeah, you need save and then exit the game alltogether before adjusting the date (so save and end and then press home and x). otherwise it doesn't work.

I did a mix of a guide that said don't talk to the villagers you want to evict and time travel 15 days forward. While this worked the bubble on the the villagers was actually random. So I decided to do something else. Instead the villagers I wanted to kick out I talked to them but twice or gave them gifts then I time traveled 15 days forward and it worked! I realized its pretty much the same as new leaf. higher friendship makes them went to move out. I was able to kick out 3/4 villagers in a row like this. But when I mean in a row I mean each following day. Since people where offering the villagers I wanted I did a quick kick out and would message the person who had the villager I wanted and worked out a price. This way I ended moving out a villager and acquiring one I wanted in those three days. I also found out when there's an event or it's raining they won't have a bubble above their head so you would have to TT another day.
