Isn't it amazing? Hans Zimmer is the best composer of all time.

Umm?

Are you referring to ethnicity, or actual cultural nationality...? I'm going to leave my answer as "Caucasian" to avoid giving TMI.

But I like to label myself as "international", because nationality isn't a barrier for me. Or hasn't been, yet.

A variety of things.

Russian art/film/literature
Brazilian culture/music
Spanish culture/music/art
Buddhism

etc.

Not your average american.....how did you get into these styles? what got you into them?

Hah. These days, if you wanna live in America, you gotta know at least a little bit of Spanish language and culture.

The only reason I may be branded as an "American" is because I was born here... nothing else makes me American. I wouldn't want to be, either, to be honest. :P

My parents. We ALWAYS had different kinds of music playing in the house. And then I always wanted to play guitar, from age 4. My parents finally broke down and got me a small guitar for Christmas when I was 7... and then I approached one of my relatives at a family gathering for lessons. He was my first teacher, and I'm actually still studying with him. I just finished the lesson half an hour ago, haha!

We started doing classical, Russian, etc... and then my dad met a guitarist named Micheal Hauser at a company wine tasting thing. Micheal was playing flamenco, and my dad knew I was interested in it (though I never really played it then), and they started talking...

Micheal recommended that I go to his brother, Tony, and play for him. Because apparently "Tony played everything, not just flamenco".

So we came to Tony Hauser's place... long story short, he is my second teacher, and we began studying flamenco, and then later Brazilian music. Things just went from there. : )
