Best Buy DLC items

Well I just got the game today and downloaded the Double neck guitar.

My question is: since I already downloaded it, if I reset the game and start a new save would I be able to re download it?

Some guy at best buy told me it can only be done once per system and if download it and reset I won't be able to download again. Is that true?

Not sure; how about you contact a buddy to hold all your items & Bells before reseting? Also, should you forget, I can gift you one. Good luck!
