bell boom ordinance <--> island medals connection

Saw something on gamefaqs that if the bell boom ordinance is in effect you get more medals on tours, but the AC wiki only says island shop items cost more medals. Can anyone confirm that you can get more medals if you have Bell Boom?

I can confirm that you do not get more medals on the island tour. I have the Beautiful Town Ordinance but my husband has the Bell Boom Ordinance. We both get 16 medals for gold on the Elite Scavenger Tour, 12 medals for gold on the Elite Hammer Tour, etc. We have each done these tours separately in our own towns, not jointly, and the medals rewarded are the same.

Rats! I would have liked to earn more medals. Been grinding away but still got a ways to go for that gold badge

Yeah, I'm working on that badge as well and it's taking so long. I'm sure I'm going to be sick of island tours by the time I'm done.
