Beans?

I've been away from the game and this thread for a while, until last week, and I've just come across the throwing beans in a dream town. Are they something that is given out at a holiday time, because I've never seen them before today? And is it for every country, or just certain ones? I just found them fun, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get my own!

They're Japan-exclusive items for the holiday Setsubun. I believe that they're sold in the Nooklings' store prior to the holiday, like the fireworks and glow wands.

They're super fun and obnoxious. I hope you get some soon!

Ditto to what the other two said: you get them from a Japanese holiday. I traded for mine, but I can't find them D: It's breaking my heart a little bit haha. They are definitely one of the most fun items in the game! I love chucking beans at everything in my town.
