Battle Field Bad Company 2 veteran status issue?

Alright so recently I heard of the M1 garand and I was like how you get it in BFBC 2. I know how to do it as you make a account on ea and use the same email as you used to make your xbox account. Anyways, when looking at my veteran status on badcompany2 site it says I only have one status but I have two games. If you don't understand what I'm saying click on this spoiler:

I did hear though that if you signed up for Battlefield Heroes that it counted it but it is -1. Is this true? Also, how long does it take till I get a message on BFBC 2 that says like, "Welcome back Veteran!"

I read somewhere that you only get one rank up for two games. I'm pretty sure that's the case.
