Basement ideas

Hi all,

I?ve recently started working on the concept for one of my side towns, Treedome. It?s basically a whimsical fairy town run by the human-obsessed Mayor Ailsa and her bubbly sidekick, Blossom. In the far, south corner lives the black fairy, Magnolia.

On the surface the other two fairies seem innocent and nice but the town will have subtle dark tones to it, and Magnolia, protector of humans, fills her part of the town with warnings to humans not to be ensnares by the lures of the other fairies? corrupted magic. For each of the fairies, the houses will feature a particular style (Ailsa?s has a woodland theme, for example) but I want the basement to depict each fairy?s true nature.

For Mayor Ailsa I was thinking of maybe setting up a human dungeon, but I?m not really sure what to do with the other two. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

That idea for a town is so wonderful, congrats on it. I'm sure you've worked hard on it.
Yah I was thinking a dungeon, my basement is sorta like that, though I just put creepy stuff in the room.
How about the big chess set? Thats a cool idea for maybe the human obsessd mayor?
Maybe make a little water cave in another basement?
Maybe make a little library? Like more of forest-y library with for exmaple 'pile of leaves' placed around in several places on the floor?
Or a dark room only lighted by mushrooms that hide treasure?

Ahh this is a brilliant idea! I can’t wait to see it. My town is going to be a bit on the creepy side as well, so I’d love to visit the dream address when you’re all set up

I love your library idea. I've seen lots of libraries, but none of them with a foresty, mushroom theme. The leaves are a great touch too.

If you have the Medli item(s) fairy bottle (they look really cool, give off light, plus it's a trapped fairy), you could line them up on the plank table item, like prisoners, to show that even fairies aren't safe from other fairies.

Have the perfume bottles item, that look like potions, and maybe the creepy crystal and cauldron. ^_^

If you have the basement wall and floor (wall is great) that would look awesome. ^_^

Hi! Thanks for all your great suggestions. I love the library idea - that was definitely not something I had thought of. I was considering using the fairy bottles, now I just have to get my hands on some! I will definitely post pics and keep my DA updated. I’d love to hear your feedback and I’m still open to room ideas.

For the Bessement you can do a prison of some sort, a dungeon or a crypt ( using the creepy coffin and such and the creepy bat stones) . The jail bars are also a nice item to use if you’re making a dungeon.
