does Bamboo count towards trees for the Perfect town?

And can it be planted next to Bushes?

before I start planning a Bamboo Forest around Lopez's house....

I don't know if they count as trees, but yes they can be planted next to bushes.

Yes they count. I had hardly any trees but lots of bamboo and was being told there was too much green, so I chopped some bamboo and it went to perfect.

Yes, bamboos count as trees sadly. From personal experience I let my bamboo run wild one time and my town rating went to perfect to so-so. I had to cut them down and now I have the perfect rating again. Yes they can be planted next to grown bushes, I do a bamboo and bush on the sides of my paths in my town so, yea they can be planted next to growing or grown bamboo already. I guess in a way it's just like a tree.
