Let's talk about achievements and badges for this new game!
Do you want these to be brought back at all? Are there any you think they should omit, and are there any you hope get added? Do you think you should get a reward other than just the badge for getting the achievement?
Personally I LOVE grinding... so I am happy if they bring back the badges or another form of achievement, and it would be sooo cool if there was one for every little thing you can do in the game.
I wonder if there will be an achievement related to online since it might not be as accessible this time as it has been previously.
I would love to see badges or some other form of achievement return! They're pretty fun to aim for, so hopefully we see them in AC Switch! I do wish there was more of a reward for getting these achievements though, especially the more difficult ones. Not anything game changing, but maybe a different accessory or something might be a nice prize!
I just thought it might be nice to be able to display your badge collection in your home or you get a certificate for each one or something that you can put up. It might not be obvious what it is from a distance but you can interact and see what it is. So you can use them as general decoration as well
I would like it to see the achievements and badges back in the new game. However, as
for the badges, it would be nice if it's this time not that hard to receive them, as there
was some badges I didn't got back in New Leaf, because it was impossible for me to fulfill
the conditions (looking at you, Streetpass badges). It would be also nice maybe to get a
little reward in form of a item based of the achievement/badge you got.
Yeah, I hate the Streetpass Badge too. The catalog competion badge is also kinda bad because it expects a lot out of you, but I would like to keep the catalog badge.
They should introduce weird badges that not everyone would get (like Nintendo Picked, aka developer favorite, for dream towns Nintendo likes most).
I remember hearing Nintendo say something about having achievements and trophies like Xbox and PlayStation do. And maybe one of them can be how many badges you can collect.
I also remember Phineas said that he could give out badges for how many coffee you serve to the villagers, but he hasn’t made them yet. Perhaps this game we can have more badges, and coffee serving can be one of them.
Switch luckily doesn't have StreetPass, so that won't be a problem this time!
Anyway, I'd like the badges/achievements. It gives you something else to work towards while playing Animal Crossing. It also encourages you to use some of the features more. For example, I feel like the Dream Suite badges encouraged me to use that feature more than I probably would have otherwise.
i love the badges! i'm currently obsessed with them so i would love if we could get them back in any form. maybe nook miles work like them, i still haven't understood them yet. the streetpass badge really is horrifying, maybe there will be a spotpass badge? i hope we can get new badges for example building up friendship levels with villagers, selling at retails or donating to the museum. there are still so many new ideas that you could use! i really hope they still appear on the id card so i can brag lmao and some kind of reward like a special item would be nice or a trophy/medal
I’m pretty sure Nook Miles work as a sort of achievement system with built in rewards. I, too, am an achievement hunter so I’m looking forward to doing all the Nook Miles challenges on top of the other things as to do as well.
I'm glad they put in Nook Miles into the game. It will give me something to do and hope to achieve. I also really like it that the Nook Miles can be used to get rewards. The badges in New Leaf didn't really give any rewards and I never liked the streetpass badge, as it took too long to achieve. Hopefully the Nook Miles aren't as hard as the streetpass badge and are fairly easy to obtain.
I think Nook Miles will probably be the replacement this time around. Just my opinion though. They'll probably integrate achievements into that. Seems like there's a whole bunch of them anyway.
To me the Nook Miles look more like the MEOW coupons from New Leaf rather than the badges. They seem to be simple tasks with a little reward (at least in the beginning), which resembles MEOW coupons a lot more. Badges always had way larger goals to reach and multiple tiers.
On the other hand Nook Miles might really replace badges considering the tasks shown in the last Direct trailer do resemble badges a lot and seem so also have multiple tiers.
