I'm at this moment starting my new dream town! I've played ACNL for a while now and created my old town completely haphazardly when I first got the game. I've now realized there's so many things I should have done differently so I'm starting fresh with a 2nd hand game cartridge.

I'm going through town maps at the moment and here's a list of features I want the map layout to have
  • Only 1 pond (so I can fill my town with tons of PWPs & gardens)
  • Minimal inaccessible beach areas (so I wouldn't have to pull out a wetsuit to reach Gulliver)
  • Centrally located town tree (for aesthetics)
  • Re-Tail located near the Train Station (easy access for trade)
  • Separate land areas, one for my villagers & the other area for me & my characters, if possible
This one layout I found made me just drool with its perfection...

What do you guys think? Am I being too picky? Any other suggestions for maps & layouts would be greatly, greatly appreciated!

It looks really good, and no I don't think you're being too picky, but That one villager on the bottom right not exactly the same space away from the others is really screwing with me, not gonna lie

I don't think that's too picky. It's gonna take forever to get the right map you want but the satisfaction of completing your dream town would be awesome. It's also your town so do with it how you want c: The map you chose is pretty good, maybe have the river more symmetrical on either side would be better but if you aren't too picky about that, it should be fine.

If I had a second copy, I would also take the opportunity to do it all over and differently, especially since you can have more dream villagers and a new way to design your town.

I KNOW RIGHT?? If I was the mayor for that town I'd be so annoyed, darned animal just needed to move one pixel up! It hurts my brains to think about how many hours it took to get the villagers in this formation T_T Looks like that will be me in the near future...

Yes! The temptation for my own "perfect town" was too great for me to resist, thank goodness I was able to get a 2nd cartridge off craigslist for a really good deal, $15!! :> should definitely look into it if you were really wanting a 2nd town!

This is the town layout I ended up going with. The only thing I'm slightly annoyed with is that the beaches are separated by the river. Other than that it was too good to pass up! The town also came with Merengue, one of my dreamies! I got a good feeling about this town

That looks awesome! Lots of space and it looks like it fills all of your requirements. At least you don't have to pull out a wetsuit it to get to Gulliver so that's a plus c: and Merengue is super cute!

I'm definitely gonna have to look into finding one since I've been meaning to and didn't have time, but it's summer so maybe I can finally do something about that lol Good luck making your perfect town^^
