Avatar animation help?

I bought the animated avatar option and resized my gif to 100x100 pixels but when i try to upload it is says the 'remote file is too large'. What does this mean and how can I fix it?

your gif animation might be too long? maybe the file size (the mb) part is exceeding the limit
