I am completely pleased by my town name, even though I hadn't planned on the name. I mean, when I first got New Leaf I was so excited to start playing that I hadn't planned what to name my town or my mayor. When Rover started asking questions, I could only think to name my character Athelwyn, which has been my gaming alias for years--Athelwyn was a sorceress from an old Lord of the Rings computer game. I wanted my town's name to match, so I named it Ruddyoak (which was the name of a reddish-brown Ent in the same game, spelled as one word just like that). And I'm in love with it! Ruddyoak is my virtual home. Plus, the name gave me a Tolkien theme to work with for my town.
YES! I reset a lot but I always name my town the same and I'm in love with it since I started with NL years ago
I'm glad I chose a name that doesn't imply a certain theme or setting so I can change that to whatever I like if i ever want to. Or a name of a real place or from a fandom, I just want it to be my own unique place. It's also the only one with that name I can find in the dream suite (WELL, except I still find my old town...) which is nice.
Although I don't have a 2nd town currently the name for that one is also set and I know it won't ever change
