Hey, so I might become a vegetarian! I was wondering what your experiences are with this and what meals you make for yourself. :) Help will be much appreciated thank you! (~.^)

I'm not either, but I wouldn't recommend becoming vegan, my cousin is and he literally can't eat anything and it's unhealthy for him.

I'm not, but there are instances where I cut out meat or dairy from my food to make it healthier for me. I love meat and dairy products too much to give them up completely. :p

Hi! I turned vegetarian a few months ago, and I thought it was going to be difficult - but it really wasn't! At first I just replaced meat with 'fake' meat, so I could still have the same meals but with a meat-free alternative. Now I really enjoy plant-based foods and I'm eating healthier than ever (: There are sooo many sources for great veggie recipes! You could just google recipes for whatever ingredients you feel like having and see what it comes up with. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer!!

I used to be a vegetarian and was one for a couple years ^^'
Had to quit because my life situation changed so drastically it was no longer safe for me to keep it up and I just haven't felt like going back to it again since the time where the body gets used to the meatless diet is/was something I'd rather not go through again (Had strong meat-cravings that almost made me feel like I'd turn into a werewolf at any moment, and my stomach was really upset for like a month xP)
I am a lot pickier with meat these days tho and eat a lot less of it compared to before I became a vegetarian.

I ate lots of tofu- and soy-based meals while I was a vegetarian, since those become important sources of protein once the meat is gone (especially if milk and/or eggs are also left out). I don't really remember any specific recipes, but the internet is full of those so it shouldn't really be an issue xD Pretty much anything non-vegetarians eat can be changed to fit a vegetarian by replacing the meat with something else ^^'

I'm a vegan. The reason is mainly to do with my love of animals and my strong belief that humans should not be permitted to interfere with nature in that kind of way. I actually made a thread for vegans and vegetarians not too long ago, if anyone's interested in sharing recipes or anything.

Literally? He literally can't eat anything?

I'm more surprised that he isn't dead, let alone unhealthy.

I was pescetarian for about 4 years, and although it was limited, it really didn't feel that way. It was definitely a lot healthier. Once you commit yourself to that kind of diet, it doesn't necessarily feel difficult.

i have been vegetarian for 10 years, i became vegetarian when i was 12 and honestly it's been such a great decision. i would never judge someone on their lifestyle choices but i have a huge problem with the meat industry and even eating free range meat turned out to have some moral implications too (seriously you should look up what is considered 'free range' it's v dubious)

i am very lucky however as i live in a country where vegetarianism is a huge thing, there are countless restaurants dedicated to it and endless amount of fake meat products (yay quorn) so i never really feel like i'm missing out

i do plan to transition to vegan at some point but there uh are a few products holding me back haha

I don't have the will strong enough to become vegetarian/vegan. I love meat/dairy, but I've always wanted to try fake meat. I've never found a place nearby that actually sells fake meat though.

Yep, I've been vegetarian for 19 years now (ever since I was born).

From my perspective animal products do nothing except harm my physical, mental and spiritual state. My body is very sensitive and to put that kind of energy into my system is unconstitutional and profoundly unnecessary. So I do without it.

I've been vegan for almost a year now and it's been the best decision I have ever made. But I realize it's not for everyone though; you must be committed. I, personally, feel as though I never liked meat to begin with. It had always made me feel "weighed down" and cheated. Dairy products at this point make me recoil in disgust. Being lactose intolerant only intensifies this feeling.

I'm much more aware of what my body wants, and it isn't animal products.

Sometimes it is tricky when food is offered but I MUST know the ingredients, prompting a look in response along the lines of "ok, you know what..." And sometimes I really don't feel like explaining for the 900th time why I don't do butter.

So again, not for everyone. :)

i'm neither a vegetarian or vegan! i've tried multiple times to stick with a vegetarian lifestyle, but it simply isn't for me.
i'm a very picky eater and i never try things i haven't eaten before. fish and meat are both a very HUGE part of my diet (i don't go a day without eating either of those).
i don't think eating vegetarian/vegan dishes would help me if i wasn't a picky eater anyway. i take medication that makes me pretty weak (i refuse to take vitamins because of my fear of it interfering with my medication), so i need at least some kind of protein-filled food. on top of that, i'm lactose intolerant, so being a vegetarian would be even harder, i believe.

on another note, i definitely agree that most of the meat industry in the u.s. is inhumane. even the fur industry is inhumane to me. still, i need meat.
:(

I've been a vegetarian for nearly 14 years. I don't find it difficult at all, but meat also repulses me, so I never ever EVER want anything to do with any of it. If you really need to wean off of it, I reccommend using quorn meat substitute, as it is really delicious. Also, instead of just quitting meat cold turkey, quit buying meat cold turkey. Do some research, figure out what vegetarian foods you want to try, and buy those while you finish all of the meat from your fridge. You will get so used to the fresher ingredients that you probably won't even notice that you've run out of meat and have become a vegetarian!
