Are Welcome Amiibo Villagers adoptable?

I know the special characters aren't, but are the returning 50? I hear some say you can bit others say you cant.

I thought so. People on another site said you can't. One person said they couldn't get Etoile but I knew she was a special Sanrio character so that's probably why. I thought so. I'll continue my quest for Ellie.

There are people on here who have them. Just keep posting in the looking for thread and you might get lucky. I got sylvana earlier, she just moved in

Over time, more and more people should have the new villagers anyways, and since the majority of this forums is full of kind users I'm sure someone will want to help you! I would if I could, but I lost my second ACNL cartridge, and I live in the US. :s

I've adopted out welcome card amiibo villagers, can confirm it works. Sanrio characters and amiibo characters can't be, though.

Thanks! I adopted Ellie today so I know you can though. I learned from someone on another board that they couldn't adopt a Sanrio villager though (sorry I know everyone probably knows that lol)

Yeah Ketchup is really sought after. I plan to just hope to get Ketchup in a pack of cards once they release in NA.
I am going to see if I can find Norma now, however.

Well, Boris isn't all that popular. But I may have luck on him.

After I get Ketchup and Boris, i'll be working on getting my welcome amiibo villagers in my 2nd town. And they are Norma and Wade. Then after the 2nd, the 3rd welcome amiibo villagers are Hopkins, Murphy, June, Vivian, Julia and Paolo.

Yeah, I'm not having any luck with Maddie. I hope when I buy cards I can get Ketchup so I can make some $.
