Are villagers masters of lies?

Phoebe asked me to collect 6 signatures this morning. A while ago I went back to her and received an Arc de Triomphe as a gift. Moments later I get a ping from Ankha who spots my Arc de Triomphe and emits a shriek saying she "HAS TO HAVE" that "AWESOME" item. So I sell it for about 2000 bells.

Saharah was in town so I switched to my other villager in hopes of getting a rare wall or carpet. I come across Ankha an decide to chat. She tells me about disliking the Arc de Triomphe in her room and asks me to seeks a nice item which can replace it. Say what?

That's one thing I don't understand about them, they seem to be very keen to have other villagers items in your possession, but will sold it off after a while.

That's why i always immediately either wear, display or keep it if its an item I want.

The worst part about them is, Vic sold me an item for about 3000 bells. Same reason saying it doesn't fit his house blah blah blah...
I bought it and sell it cheap at retail for less than 1k.
Immediately Vic comes in and bought it!

I had this happen to me :L Rosie came up to me and said she loved my daisy shirt so I sold it to her... about an hour later she wanted to sell it back to me

I usually just buy it, then sell it to Re-Tail.

I'd give her the benefit of the doubt... Maybe, when she first saw it, she thought it was super cool, but then, when she actually put it in her room, she realized it wasn't as nice as she thought, and wanted something different? XD

But, in all seriousness, this right here is why I don't care about the state of my villager's houses. I've tried to keep some of their houses pristine, but they constantly want new furniture, and if you don't give them new furniture, they'll seriously just sell everything they have to Re-Tail. I have come to realize that they like living in weird houses. C:

Pietro tried to sell me the banana he got on Toy Day Then again, not sure if I wanted to live with the knowledge that his most treasured possession used to be a fruit.

This happened with me and Tank;

Tank bought my tumbleweed, and then my sister went on and Tank was saying "Don't ask, just have it" and gave my sister the tumbleweed. My sister placed it outside my house, when i logged onto my resident I picked it up because it was in a flower patch, and then tank says he needs new furniture to replace some old lost furniture -.-

Mallary's birthday was November 17th, so I looked up her preferences of gifts and ended up giving her a pink velvet stool that day. She loved it and said it was perfect and beautiful. She said she'd keep it forever.

I always assume that they realize that the furniture doesn't fit their room so they sold it.

I gave Sparro a green lamp(like he requested) on Toy Day and he sold it on Re-Tail after few days.
